Hi, I’m Dr. Lauren Bartholomew

She/her

I specialize in therapy for childfree individuals, highly sensitive people, LGBTQ+ folx and their families, women recovering from narcissistic abuse, people who are no or low contact with family, and equestrians. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. In my work, I operate from the perspective that we are all doing the best that we can, and that we all want to live our lives with contentment and joy—but that the path in getting there is often difficult and full of unexpected surprises.

Outside of work, I enjoy riding horses, hiking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.

My Background, Training, and Experience

I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Arlington, Virginia in 2014. I completed my internship through The Mid-Atlantic Internship Consortium, and my post-doctoral work at Insight Psychological Services and Freedman Counseling Services.

I am trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and Internal Family Systems approaches. To learn more about the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy, please read this article written by my teacher, Derek Scott. I am also trained in providing ketamine assisted psychotherapy.

I have experience working in private practice and community mental health settings conducting both therapy and assessment services to a wide range of people from children to older adults.

I am licensed to provide therapeutic services in Pennsylvania as well as online in participating Psypact states. I am currently only seeing patients virtually.
