And coming soon, New York!

  • Perceptive Perspective

    We Value Equality

    Equality Matters

At PIPS, we believe in diversity and equality. We have a strongly anti-racist stance, support the Black Lives Matter movement, and believe in love across the rainbow. All patients receive quality care provided with dignity and respect. We affirm all people regardless of age, culture, differing ability levels, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, health status, relationship status, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

  • Typical Treatment

Our first session, the intake, will last between 50 and 60 minutes. All sessions after the intake will last between 45-50 minutes. Some patients desire a course of therapy that is brief, lasting only six to eight sessions. Other patients feel they benefit from ongoing treatment that may last several years. Either is acceptable; it's really about finding what works for you.

  • Psychologist or Psychiatrist?

People are often curious as to the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist. Psychologists provide psychotherapy, not medication. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in prescribing medication to manage mood disorders. PIPS can recommend several psychiatrists in the area should you decide medication is an option that you would like to explore.
